Presley, Elvis - Elvis Presley

Expert: Beverly Taylor - 7/6/2009

Question
I have and original paper fan club magazine from 1955 with an article in it about Elvis's home at 1034 Audubon Drive and it is in great condition, no rips or tears just tanned pages from the years. Do you have any idea how much it might be worth today. It cost 25 cents back then?

Answer
Oh my!  Hi "JanGraceland"! You do have a rare treasure on your hands there. I would love to buy it from you, but guess what? I could never pay you what it is probably worth in dollars and cents! You have some options. You can sell it on Ebay and see what the highest bid is. You could sell it to a collector or seller privately. Or you could loan it to the City of Tupelo for display at the Birthplace! I have no idea where you live. There will be such kinds of trading and selling going on during Elvis Week, but it would behoove you to continue your research before then.
Are you willing to trade your sentimental attachment for this rarity? You will get a pretty penny for it though this is not my area of expertise!
I am going to forward this to the pool where hopefully someone can give you a better answer. If you arent in a financial bind, I would hold out and not sell it to the first inquiry (me--haha)!
Keep me posted. I would love to know what you do with this gem.
