AboutPatrick Expertise I am happy to answer any questions about Elvis`s life and death, which I have specifically researched quite a bit. I would prefer not to answer questions about sales figures, chart positions, or other simple statistical data (including trivia questions).
Experience I have consulted for two televisions programs (Rock-and-Roll Record Breakers on VH-1 and The Presley Family on The Family Channel), and I was previously the top-rated Elvis Presley expert at AllExperts.com (several years ago). I have researched many aspects of Elvis's life and death and am very well-read in these topics.
Question Hello,
I hope this is the only stupid question you get today, but will you please tell me if a copy written signature, as on a clock or some other elvis memorobilia, makes that item any more valuable than a piece without the manufactured signature? Or, if you would please just tell me the difference between the original (besides the obvious)and the one thats copied, that would be great.
Have a nice day
Debra Stephens
Answer Debra-
Thanks for writing.
If you have a clock, for example, with a printed "Elvis Presley" signature on it, the value of the clock does not increase. The signature is simply decorative.
Now, it is possible, of course, that someone might pay more for a clock *with* the signature, but this would be considered a personal preference and is not based on an inherent value of the clock with the printed signature. So the bottom line is that some people might pay more for a clock based on the design and appearance (i.e., with *or* without an EP signature), but the inherent value of the clock does not change.
