Presley, Elvis - Christmas at Graceland?

Expert: Beverly Taylor - 9/25/2009

Question
Does Lisa Marie and her family spend every Christmas at Graceland?

Answer
Hey there, Laura! With the holiday season approaching; and the subsequent anticipation of the decorations inside and outside of Graceland............this is a timely question! I have to tell you that I do not believe that Lisa Marie and her family spend Christmas at Graceland since it is not where they live. Graceland is a bittersweet place for Lisa Marie...the family home she grew up in until the age of nine, the grounds she rode horses with her mom and dad; and always rode with Elvis around the property in the go cart.....the house where she last saw her Daddy alive and also saw him carried out dead under a sheet on a stretcher at the age of nine. I believe she has found great comfort in the home that honors Elvis' memory better than anything; and in her quiet and personal visits to his bedroom. However, I dont believe she has celebrated Christmases there  but spent them in her own home where her children had their own rooms and made their own memories.
I do believe that there is a annual dinner of sorts there. I am not a hundred percent on this one; and will ask for feedback from the rest of the pool. Please visit again Laura.
