Presley, Elvis/off beat career

Question
what does offbeat career or service mean, and what is it definition?

Answer
Hello, Rahmatullah

That is a term used for a not-normal progressive career - in the states we would say "out of the ordinary" "different" "unusual" "unique"

Since Elvis was a superstar who rose to that level of success so fast and stayed so long until his death, he fits that definition - as "off beat" would be more of an UK based English term for "not the normal route" towards success.

I hope that helps! TCB
