QuestionHi. I am a line dancer and have run across a song dubbed "Elvis Rumba" which seems to exist nowhere except on a compilation disk in the UK. Do you know the song, and the real title - and the CD from whence it comes?
Thanks
AnswerHello ckincel
Sorry, but I do not know this song myself. It certainly does not feature the voice of Elvis and has no direct connection to Elvis himself.
The group Line Dance Heaven are most probably a group of British session men used to record budget albums and this particular song has found its way onto a UK compilation CD called "Line Dance Fever Vol 8". The actual title as listed on this CD is "Elvis Rumba".
The only song that Elvis ever recorded that mentions the word rumba was "There's No Room To Rumba In A Sports Car" which is on the soundtrack CD from the film "Fun In Acapulco". It may be that the song "Elvis Rumba" is based on this.
The track listing for the CD "Line Dance Fever Vol 8" is:
1. Seven Nights To Rock - BR5-49
2. Poor Boy Shuffle - Tractors
3. Cinco De Mayo - War
4. I Like It Like That - Blackout Allstars
5. Taste Of Boogie - Carboo
6. Almost Jamaica - Bellamy Brothers
7. Jambalaya - Eddy Raven
8. Baby Please Come Home - Scooter Lee
9. Howdy - Scott Rouse
10. 1999 - Sean Kenny
11. Carnaval De Paris - Dario G
12. Kung Fu Fighting - Bus Stop
13. Spanish Eyes - Engelbert Humperdinck
14. Elvis Rhumba - Line Dance Heaven
15. All Out Of Love - Newton
16. Say Anything - Shane McAnally
17. Bundle Of Nerves - Ken Mellons
18. Six Days On The Road - Sawyer Brown
19. Looking For Love - Junior Brown
20. Amazing Grace - Sporran Brothers
