Question QUESTION: I am booked for a room on the Lido deck on the Princess cruise line and only a couple of rooms in front of the pool area.Am I going to be disappointed? Is it noisy?
ANSWER: You will get a lot of traffic outside your door during the day, to and from the pool, but I don't think you will be disappointed. It truly depends on how much time you spend in your stateroom. During the evening, you'll find the traffic slows quite a bit, and should not be bothersome. You didn't say which ship, so I can't consider the specific layout, but most ships, have some buffer zone between the cabin hallway and the pool deck, such as a breezeway or double entry ways. This should provide some noise isolation. Also consider this, you could've been next to the disco which thumps well into the wee hours of the night. In my opinion, ANY stateroom on a cruise ship is far better than any room at home. Enjoy your trip.
Sincerely,
Barac Wimberly

QUESTION: The ship is the Caribbean Princess
Answer On the Caribbean Princess, the Lido Deck is deck 15 and the only traffic you will encounter in the stateroom section is from those guests going to and from their rooms.
Noise from the pool area will be minimized by several sets of buffer doors, so you should not be bothered too much.
I've had clients on this ship booked into those same rooms and have not had any complaints.
