Printer mechanical problems/Printer status is idle

Question
I have an HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One it did not come with an installation disk so I found the software on line and downloaded it. All appeared to have gone well until I tried to print and I noticed the status said idle. H ow can I fix this?

I would suggest download and run HP's Print and Scan Doctor: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03286146&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
Also, you may want to verify you're using the right drivers for your OS at:
