Printer mechanical problems/printer will not suck paper through

This solution to my HP PSC 1610 ALL in One problem worked like a charm. My printer was sucking in paper and then chewing it up. I opened the back shook it out fed a thick card stock through and dislodged an old crumpled piece of paper I could not see. I am back in business. Thank you for saving me the cost of a new printer.

Thanks very much, This answer led me to find a bullion bar (yes a bullion bar, silver actually one ounce) that I have been missing for almost a year! How it got in my printer I have NO CLUE but Now not only have I found the bullion but also have fixed my printer !!!!!

I had the same problem. I finally opened up all the areas and held it upside down while shaking it and hitting the bottom of it. Then I took canned air and sprayed all throughout it. I didn't think it would work, but figured it couldn't hurt...well, it some how worked. I didn't see anything but dust come out. But that was enough to get it working again!

The card stock trick allowed me to manually push through, and get printed, one sheet, however, it still wanted me to clear the paper jam. Unfortunately my Lexmark X 83 still won't feed paper through the rollers. I can't seem to find any way to clean the rollers or find any small thing that might be jamming the printer. Thanks for the help anyway.
