Expert: Rundletech - 10/29/2006

Question
I am trying to use my C530 that previously was used on a WIN98  system.  My new PC has WinXP and only USB ports.  I am using a Parralel/USB adapter and the XP drivers downloaded from Canon.    While running the Setup I receive "Setup cannot proceed without the device connected." I am not sure f this is a software or hardware issue.

I found when using an adapter the computer will not find the port. To find the port. What you need to do is when you go to print before you hit the print button you have unplug the USB connector and then plug it back in wait a few seconds then click print. It should now work. You will need to do this each time you start your system.
