Printers/MY HP PRINTER STOPPED WORKIGN WHEN I CHANGED CARTRIDGTES

Question
Thank you for your quick answer.  I tried what you said (and checked to see that there was no tape on the cartgridges) and the light still keeps blinking and no printer action.

I am not sure if I am doing this correctly.   I unplugged the whole computer while the computer and printer were on.  Then I turned it all back on and uninstalled and then installed the printer.   Still blinks and no action.   Did I do it wrong?  Is there anything else that I might try?  I spent nearly 70 dollars just for the new ink.  If I had known this was going to happen I would have been better off just buying a new printer, but now I have two opened cartridges that I can't return and that will do no good unless I can get this HP 710C going.   I appreciate any help you can can suggest.

Question -
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

I have a pc with a HP 710C printer that worked fine until yesterday.  When the ink on one of the cartridges ran out, I went and got another one, and the light on the bottom of the printer (printer attention) keeps blinking and the machine will not print.  I bought two new cartridges for both color and black and put them in.  Still blinking.   Can you think of a way to fix this?  I already bought the two ink cartridges and the price of them (almost 60 dollars) would have been enough to get another printer (although no doubt a printer that uses different print cartridges than the new ones).  Is there any practical way to make that light stop blinking and get this computer back on line?

Answer -
Hello John,
While the printer is on unplug from the wall for 70 seconds this will allow the printers motherboard to clear the error.
Then plug it back in and then run the install.

Another common problem is people forget to remove the plastic stip from the bottom of the cartridge.

Answer
Hello John, Yes you did it wrong you did not read my instructions. Here they are with more details for you.

1)turn on the printer (computer must stay on at all times)
2) unplug the printer only for 70 seconds be suyre the printer is on before you unplug it.
3) Plug the printer back into the wall.

This should remove the error.
