Question
Hi.  I have an HP G85xi all-in-one.  I had my Gateway computer upgraded with Windows XP. After that, I could not fax in or out, I had no sound and I could not scan.  My brother, who is a network manager for a university, resolved all of my issues but the scanning.

Here's the problem:  When I scan a document or picture, it used to open up HP Image Editor immediately and the document appeared there. Then, I could choose where I wanted to send it (Word, Adobe, etc.) from HP Image Editor.    We cannot get this feature to work again.  HP Image Editor is on my computer, but we can't get it "connected" to the SCAN TO button on my printer.  Any ideas?

Thanks a lot for any help or suggestions.

Answer
When you upgraded it may have changed the settings in your bios for the pherpherials. You should have him check those settings! The other issue could be that the scanner driver may not be for XP go on the web find the scanners drivers that are for XP. Load the new driver.
Drivers for the printer and scanner must be for XP.
