Question
I have a lexmark z515 printer. Everything was o.k until I changed the color cartridge. Now when I turn the printer on the carriage slams hard to the left. When I turn it off it slams to the right. This is the first time it did this type of thing. Thanks for any help.84xhi

Answer
Hello Randy,
I am unsure what could have happened. Does this make  a noise when moving across the slide bar? If so then I would say you need a lubricant on the bar. If not then something has happened with the assembly and may need servicing. One other thing to check is a white lever or black lever depending on the left side front of the cartridge carrier. Sometimes this lever becomes unlocked. To lock it you need to have it to the far right and you push the small lever downward lightly push carriage to the right then lift lever to lock.
