Question
hi,  when I was using windows 98 the hp printer 710c (is what loads- and the disc reads 712c) so I really dont know which it is a 710c or a 712c  anyway the problem is this until i went  to windows 2000 the printer worked swell.  now with windows 2000 the printer says failed to load  cant find driver. I put the disc in and the error box comes up saying a ton of stuff is errored and the printer wont work  one time I found a driver somewhere on your site something not  even belonging to my model hp yet the printer worked under this other driver...now  again the printer wont respond with out the updated drivers for 2000. can you help?  do I pitch the printer? other than a current driver there is nothing wrong with the printer but it is usless right now.  thank you for your prompt reply and response to    rredriderrr@hotmail.com    and rredriderrr@cs.com   please reply to both since at any given time my isp choses which email will receive the mail   thanks   rred

Answer
The problem is that the win98 driver keeps load and causing the win2000 driver to corrupt.
1) Download a trial of System Mechanic. Use ASK.com to locate. Free trial is for 30 days
2) Run the registry clean on the program
3)Go to HP website and download the latest driver for your printer that is for win2000.
4) Install the driver
5)It should now work.
