Printers - hp 1210v printer

Expert: Rundletech - 10/13/2006

Question
My hp desktop has benn running slow. I bought a new laptop, loaded my 1210v printer, hooked up printer with usb cable.  Then my laptop froze, just like my desktop.  Could the printer be bad
or do I need a high speed usb cable for the printer.   Thanks  Scott.

Answer
Did a bubble pop up on the right had corner indicating that the USB hub was found. If not it may be disabled in your bios. You will need to take your laptop to the store you bought it and have them enable the USB hub in the bios. Once this is done when you boot up the usb  hub should detect the printer.
As far as the computer running slow you should download spybot and run the program for spyware. The program is free and will help in stopping spyware from effecting your system. Slow down can be spyware working in the back ground. If this fails to speed it up then I would suggest doing a system defrag.
