I bought a pirinter a month ago which its mark is lexmark X1250. I started to print hoping getting 600 page from the printer but When I get 50 paper, my cartige level come to the very low level. I mean ink in the cartige become very low. On the other hand My previous printer which is HP 840C was very good and I tokk 600 paper from the printer. I thought Lexmark was very good printer but ink level in cartige finished quickly. What is the difference between HP and lexmark thinking about ink usage on cartiges for using prints? I mean Why lexmark cartiges finished quickly but the HP cartiges didn't finish quickly. I hope I could say my problem to you. If you answer I will be happy. Thank you for your interest.
Answer Zafer it depends on the dpi rating the printers have. The higher the dpi on the printer the greater the usage of ink.
Now on the Lexmark if this occured on the very first set of cartridges there is a reason for that as well. Lexmark sells their printers with a low capacity cartridge. In other words the ink supllu is about 1/3 that of a regular cartridge. The ink indicator will show it full and drop quickly because it is basing the level at 1/3 full.
My expert opinion is that the HPs are a much better printer and they do not exhaust their ink supply as quickly. I found the Lexmarks even with the same technology of the HP's use ink up more quickly this could be the sponges used in the cartridges have a free flow thus more ink is used. Another problem I experienced over time with Lexmark is that their paper feed assembly becomes unstable after lots of use and requires servicing.
The HP's on the other hand are exceptional in all aspects of your printing needs.
