Private Investigations and Personal Security/videos....

I live in New York and have been told that a private investigator has the right to videotape a private citizan, even in their own home.
Does that mean anybody can videotape anybody???
What are the rules on that?

Generally, yes, anyone can be videotaped just about anywhere.  The normal restrictions involve not going on private property, actually taping from inside the home, placing the camera inside private property, etc.  If the P.I. is on public property (street), anything observed through windows/doors can be recorded.

Hope that helps.
