Can I have the PI do certain searches and steps, all of it leading to dead ends? What would they be? he finally has to go there in person undercover.

QUESTION: I am sorry that I wasn't clear and if you are yelling that is understandable.
Anyway, I have made up a spooky, creepy organization called Janus Face. They are a scam and dangerous. People disapear when they get close to the organization. The organization is powerful and when the Private investigator tries to get information on who owns the organzation, and what exactly they do, the organization is able to conceal it when he makes computer searches and looking for finacial records and such. Again, I am sorry I didnn't give better details. I hope this is better.

The investigator would use a wide array of resources at his disposal, such as corporate filings, Internet, word on the street, competitors, past employees, informants, state and national agency contacts etc. to gain intel about the organization. You might have him search the company on the Internet, and than have his personal fire-wall go off, like someone is trying to hack his computer. Additionally, he could get a strange call from someone in national govt which warns him to stay away... You might also consider that the requests files from the sate, but later is told they are missing..
