Private Investigations and Personal Security/how to prevent being a target

Hello. I have been worried about security while traveling alone. I take night classes at college and there have been a lot of rapings and crimes in the area. How can I keep myself from being a target or at least act like someone not to be messed with?

You've partially answered your own question.  Criminals target those (typically) who lack situational awareness of their surroundings.  Keeping your head 'on a swivel' and being aware of your surroundings is a good first step.   Walk upright, with your head looking all around, constantly watching and looking.

Next, don't disregard your 'spidey sense' that something might be wrong.  Panic kills for sure, but if your senses are telling you a situation 'feels' wrong, or is dangerous, likely it is.

Predators seek out victims.  If you ACT like a potential victim, you'll be one.
