Private Investigations and Personal Security/hard to find criminal

hi..making a long story short, i was victimized by a white collar criminal in 2007. she seems to have built in radar about how to stay away from police. she uses different names of course and i think has different i.d.'s in her purse. i hired a private detective to find her and have her arrested. he took the money i sent and then told me that he had found her. he claims he showed her his i.d. and said the police will be back tomorrow to arrest her; hard to believe. anyway, first, do you think its at all possible she can be found, give that she has an arrest warrant for i.d. thef in texas. second, she travels to different states, using her next victim to pay for everything. i dont really want to be ripped off again by sometime i trust and hire to find her. would you have any suggestions on what to do so she can put caught and arrested once and for all? thank you!!

Firstly I would request proof from the private investigator that he found her. I what ask for specifics to determine his credibility. Ultimately, he would of had to have some very specific information about her and then use it during his database search. If he found her through a database, then he can send you a copy of the database report with any personal or private information omitted. If she has a warrant, then she has a criminal record which makes it easier to find someone. I would also contact the PI and ask him to give you the incident and or case number for the police report he filed. If he made contact with Law Enforcement, he will have a case or incident #, and a possible name of the police detective assigned to the case.

However, without know all of her pertinent information, I cant give you a definitive answer or relevant suggestions. Nonetheless, hopefully you can try these things to make sure your investigator did his job. If not, contact the state licensing board and file a report. You'll find out pretty quickly whether he actually did the work you paid for.

Hope that helps!

I enjoy answering questions relating to private & general investigations including but not limited to locates, skip tracing, surveillance, stalking, child custody, criminal defense, civil, corporate security/executive protection, workplace violence/threat assessments, personal security, security surveillance systems and GPS tracking/monitoring products & services. Specifically, I answer questions regarding state laws concerning private investigation practices, as well as the best practices & standard operating procedures used by most reputable private investigative firms. I can give you state & federal references when dealing with issues that may or may not be legal in your specific state. IE- Some states have laws which conflict with federal law such as California's "2 party law" for surreptitious audio recordings. I offer tips on how to identify the right investigative firm for your particular case and what type of questions that investigative firm should be asking you. QUICK TIP #1: NEVER hire a Private Investigative firm that is not concerned about providing you a written contract that specifically outlines the agreement and responsibilities of both parties!!! A written contract should be expected & demanded by both investigative firm and client 95% of the time. I have numerous resources and will point you in the right direction. Whether it is hiring an attorney, a specialist or offering tips on conducting LEGAL investigations & research yourself. I offer advise regarding the kind of info you can legally obtain, what's not legal for you to obtain and when you need to hire a professional to obtain the info on your behalf. Lastly, I have over 20 yrs of experience as a Security Professional/Consultant and 12+ yrs within the Investigative profession. As the 2009 President of a state Private Investigation Association, I have professional knowledge, experience & established resources that supply me with the most recent legislative issues & industry trends.
