Private Investigations and Personal Security/Legal Investigators in DA's Office

I was just wondering if Legal Investigators can work in a DA's office or if they only work in law firms?

If they qualify for the position as a DA Investigator, then of course they could get the job.  Being a State/City Government position, there would be certain requirements of a DA Investigator that may exceed those of a Legal Investigator at a Law Firm.
