Question
Hi, I want to go to a private boarding school. But i can't figure out how to apply for scholarships. I was wondering if you had any suggestions.

Answer
Hi Megan,

This may be the shortest answer I've ever had to write to an AllExperts question:  Ask each school's financial aid office.

Even NAIS says so!  (http://www.nais.org/admission/index.cfm?itemnumber=145880&sn.ItemNumber=142477)

There isn't much more to it than that.  Each school's admission office will have the best sense of the kind of financial aid the school offers (some by need, some by merit,) and what kind of other loans and grants for which their students qualify.

Many independent schools use NAIS as a clearinghouse of financial aid applications.  Check out

www.nais.org/admission/index.cfm?ItemNumber=145893&sn.ItemNumber=142486

Best of luck!

Michael
