Subject: Transcripts/diploma
Question I attended Colin McEwen High School, 23410 Civic Center Way, Malibu, Ca and graduated in 1969. I have asked for 5 months for my transcripts and diploma. The principal Eugene Wilson always says he is too busy. Who can I contact to get this man to help me?
Answer Deborah,
This must be very frustrating. I found that there is an office for the school located in a mall, so I do not know how well organized they are.
If they are open and active, there should be someone responsible for records other than the principal. I would ask for the records office instead of the principal.
Being a private school, there are no public avenues for you. You may also consider writing to them, include a self addressed and stamped envelope.
On second thought, and even though they are not members, I might contact the California Association of Independent Schools for help. They might be willing to contact the school for you. They are at www.CAISCA.org.
You don't mention where you live now; you could also make arrangements to pick them up. I might call and ask for a date that you could pick them up- perhaps that will get the ball rolling.
Best of luck,
Michael
