Question
Skip,

Why can't PGA & LPGA players compete against each other in tournaments?

Thanks in advance

Answer
Dear Catherine...thanks for the good word...I'm glad you won the wager.  Incidentally, Woods and Anika Sorenstem are playing a made-for-tv match very soon against David Duval and Webb.  A little 2 on 2 grudge match.  Look for it, coming soon.  Take care,

LTG,
Skipper

Dear Catherine, thanks for the question.  Technically they can.  Various tees/handicaps are set up for that purpose in golf.  On the other hand, many feel that type of competition would favor the men due simply to the fact that men can hit the ball farther.  Furthermore, from a television point of view, many feel that mixed tournaments would not be very marketable.  They do play a few mixed-team events at the end of each season, but even those don't pit men against women but rather men/women vs. other men/women. (and historically result in some very low TV ratings) Lastly, many men feel that there is nothing to gain, but much to lose in competing against women.  If they beat the women, well, they were supposed to.  If they lose to the woman...Lookout for Fallout!  Good luck, and remember...

Love the game,
Skipper
