Question Hi Skip,
Am doing a quiz which is driving me crazy and I thought you might help. The question is exactly written as follows:
" As of 1st July 2006, 11 people have tried to do something against tiger Woods at golf, but only one of them has been successful in this context. Who?
Thanks for your trouble.
Bill
Answer Dear Bill, thanks for the question. What comes to mind for me initially is Beating him in a playoff. I'm not sure exactly how many times he has won in a playoff, but I'm fairly certain it is indeed around 10. What I do know for certain is that only one guy has beaten him in a playoff, and that is Billy Mayfair in the 1998 Nissan Open in LA.
Another idea I had was beating him when Tiger had the lead after 3 days. But research shows his record in this category is even better than his playoff record. He has had at least a share of the 54-hole lead 37 times on tour, and has lost only three times — to Retief Goosen, Phil and Ed Fiori.
