Question
Do you half to always put your ball marker behind the ball?

Answer
Dear Jack, thanks for the question.  Under Rule 20-1 you are to mark your ball immediately behind the ball unless it otherwise interferes with another player's' ball. Then you have the option to mark it otherwise without touching the line of the putt itself.  Good luck, thanks again for asking and remember...

Love the game,
