Pro Golfing - spotting the golf ball on th green

Expert: Skip Ward - 7/31/2006

Question
can you spot the golf ball on the green with your putter while adjusting the ball, and other things or ways you can spot the ball while moving it. Thanks in advance .

                  Victor

Answer
Dear Victor, thanks for the question.  Technically you CAN use your putter while adjusting the ball, but it is a bit risky in that you could inadvertantly move the spot.  You're allowed to use anything to mark your ball, and as long as it stays still, everything is ok.  I would recommend sticking with the standard coin...low risk.  Good luck and remember...

Love the game,
skipper
