About Dave Wolf
Expertise
Hi everyone. I am 32 years old, and have been a wrestling fan ever since I can remember. My earliest memories of pro wrestling come from the old AWA back in the early 1980's. At the time, the AWA was the only wrestling I got on TV, but that soon expanded to the WWF(WWE)and NWA(WCW), and even World Class Championship Wrestling for a while. I feel I have a good knowledge of wrestling and can help you out with pretty much any question you have. If I don't know the answer off hand, I am not afraid to do a little research, whether it be through the internet, or from other various personal resources I have. I am proud of the fact that I am rapidly approaching 1000 questions answered, which is the most in the pro wrestling category. So if you have a question about something, feel free to ask. However, due the number of questions I've answered regarding this subject, I am asking that you please refrain from asking questions regarding pro wrestling schools and how to get into pro wrestling. It's a good question, but it does get a little old answering the same question over and over again. As an alternative to asking this question, please see my previous answers. I check my email pretty much everyday, so most of my questions are answered within 24 hours, if not much earlier.

Experience
I don't have any first hand experience in the world of pro wrestling, but I have been a fan for as long as I can remember, and spend a lot of time reading up on the subject, whether it be from magazines, books, dirt sheets, or websites.

Question
QUESTION: I have questions in regards to becoming a Pro Wrestling Referee and thought that you could help.  If you can please respond to me because I am eager to hear from you.

ANSWER: Hi Gin.  Thanks for the question.

I'll try and help you out, but I've never been in the wrestling business, so I don't really know that much about getting into wrestling.  Let me know what your questions are, and I'll try and help you out.

Thanks again.

Dave

QUESTION: Thanks for responding, and I do have questions.

First off, I have yet to learn, but just how much is the starting salary for Professional Wrestling Referees.  Secondly, I know that before I can go into this career, I will need training first, but just where can I go for this kind of training?

Answer
Hi Gin.  Thanks for the question.

I honestly have no idea how much pro wrestling referees make.  I've seen figures on the wrestlers themselves, but never referees.  I'm sure the ones working in WWE or TNA make a decent amount, but those working on the indy scene probably don't make that much.

Just like the wrestlers themselves, you can get training at pro wrestling schools.  I don't know if all the schools offer referee training, but I know a lot of them do.  After all, the referee is an important part of any match, and they need to learn how do it, just like the wrestlers do.  You can find a list of wrestling schools by just doing a simple Google search, or even checking out Wikipedia.

I hope this helps a little.  Like I said before, I'm not actually in the wrestling business, so I don't have any first hand experience as how to get involved.  If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks again for the questions.  Have a great night!

Dave
