AboutDave Wolf Expertise Hi everyone. I am 32 years old, and have been a wrestling fan ever since I can remember. My earliest memories of pro wrestling come from the old AWA back in the early 1980's. At the time, the AWA was the only wrestling I got on TV, but that soon expanded to the WWF(WWE)and NWA(WCW), and even World Class Championship Wrestling for a while.
I feel I have a good knowledge of wrestling and can help you out with pretty much any question you have. If I don't know the answer off hand, I am not afraid to do a little research, whether it be through the internet, or from other various personal resources I have. I am proud of the fact that I have now broken the 1000 answers barrier, which is the most in this category.
I generally check my email several times a day, so any question asked is usually answered within 24 hours, or much sooner. The only exception to this might be the weekends, where I may take a little longer to get back to you.
****Due to the number of questions I get regarding pro wrestling schools and getting into wrestling, I am no longer answering questions related to these subjects. There are times when I've gotten the same question asked 4 or 5 times in one day. It's not that they're bad questions, but from my end, it just gets old answering the same question over and over again. Instead, please see some of my previous answers, or you can ask another expert on the site***
Experience I don't have any first hand experience in the world of pro wrestling, but I have been a fan for as long as I can remember, and spend a lot of time reading up on the subject, whether it be from magazines, books, dirt sheets, or websites.
Education/Credentials None, really. Just a long time fan.
Question One of my favorite wrestlers of all time was Mr. USA Tony Atlas. I could never confirm it, but that man looked like he was on some serious steroids. In this day and age when many wrestlers with similar physiques to his are not living much further past the age of 50, is he still alive? If so, what has he been up to? I thought he may have been promoting some small circuit wrestling stuff. Thanks in advance.
OK, we all know wrestlers heights, weights, and size are greatly exaggerated. I thought it would be interesting to find out if you could tell me the actual height and weight of some wrestlers so I could compare them: The Great Khali, the Big Show and Andre the Giant. Thanks in advance.
Answer Hi Lucky. Thanks for the question.
Yes, Tony Atlas is still alive. He is 63 years old. He was a professional bodybuilder before he became a wrestler, so the jury is still out whether he took steroids or not, but I would bet at some point he did.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. Last I heard anything about him, he actually still wrestled for independents from time to time. At one point, he had his own promotion in the Boston area, although I don't know if he still does.
As far as the height and weight of the wrestlers you mentioned, I don't know for sure exactly. It seems like everyone has a different opinion. Most of sources I look at have The Great Khali at 7ft3 and about 400lbs, The Big Show at 7ft and weighing well over 400lbs at his heaviest, and The Undertaker at 6ft9 and right around 300lbs.
Thanks again for the question. Let me know if you have anything else.
