how many distinct permutations can be formed from the letters of th word PLANE

Answer
The number of ways to arrange all the alphabets in the word is 5! (5 factorial).
The number of permutations of the 5 letters taken 4 letters at a time is 5*4*3*2
The number of permutations of the 5 letters taken 3 letters at a time is 5*4*3
The number of permutations of the 5 letters taken 2 letters at a time is 5*4
The number of permutations of the 5 letters taken 1 letters at a time is 5

Just sum all of them, you will get the answer. Please do the math.
