Question Hi,
I have a question about standard deviation of a number.
When we plate cells in biology and we decide to plate 800 for example, we never plate exactly 800. There is a human error. So I would like to know how to quantify this type of error and incorporate in the standard deviation to use it after in different operations.
Like that, I can take care about this error in the error propagation.
Thank you for your help
Answer not being a biologist, i do not know what is meant by 'plating cells'.
in order to give a cogent response, i need to understand what the
measurement [or counting] process actually entails.
also, you need to give me an idea of the use to which you will put
the 'standard deviation' you want to obtain.
if you can clarify these things for me, perhaps i can comment further.
