Probability & Statistics - Time series data

Expert: ronny fisher - 7/29/2009

Question
What does it mean to used pooled data to find the average autocorrelation coefficient for sales growth using the cross-sectional stock data and how do you use it?

Can you give me an example?

Answer
sally -

time series is not exactly my thing. but i may be able to nudge you a bit in the right direction - if you can clarify for me some of your terminology.

tell me what you mean, exactly, by

a) cross-sectional stock data. cross-section of what?

and

b) sales growth (growth of what?).

i should pose your question to you: can you give me an example of what data you are referring to here? the more you can spell it out for me - the better.
