Expert: Steve - 6/30/2007

Question
QUESTION: When I try to use AOL I get the following Error message "Runtime Error R605 pure vitual funtion call"
Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library.
I have been told that this is an AOL Error message that reguires reinstallation of AOL SOLFWARE? I can't find this on Micorosolf XP help and support.

ANSWER: Hi Louis,
First delete the temp files, clear the cache, then uninstall the AOL software. After that re-boot, reinstall the AOL, as a current user, let me know if it is good then.

QUESTION: Thanks Steve:  I don't know what temp files you are referring to or what you mean by clear the cache?  I have both AOL 9.0 and Override installed, I don't have copes of either software to reinstall. Both pieces of software where downloaded to me by AOL.

Answer
louis,
go to the tools on the top left,click internet options, there you can clear the history. You can do a search for the AOL 9.0, IT will give you the ability to download from the internet. It will be easy if you have bradband or cable if not it can be done but a bit longer..let me know if you understand a bit better, if not i can walk you thru.

steve
