AboutSteve Expertise Expert knowledge in AOL versions 5.0, 6.0, and currently using 7.0, 9.0, if there is a problem within any area i can usually come up with a fix or know where to get it.
Experience Have been an AOL member for almost 10 years and have suffered thru some of the problems that come up daily.

Question Trying to download and install 9VR on a new machine (Windows XP Pro, SP 2 update; Office 2003 configured. All Microsoft updates for software and hardware installed. Each time --just a few moments into the process--I get an AOL error -1004 (not to be confused with Windows error). The error message directs me to start over. I do; same result. On line AOL Help don't seem to have an answer for this one.

first clear the cache, then temp files. then you have to uninstall the AOL program, upon completing that re-boot. I do not recommend AOL, but if you must have it, either try another version of 9.0 or go online and get 8.0. Let me know how it works out.
