Question Hi hope you can help. My dads been using aol for the last 12-18 months with no problems then he tol me ha wanted more space on his hard drive so he deleted some programs that he didnt want. Now for some reason when he launches the aol shortcut from the desktop the sign in screen appears BUT NOTING ON THE PAGE IS SELECTABLE. The only way to close that screen is to cntrl alt delete. I have some knowledge of aol as i used it prior to ntl, I have unistalled and then re-installed the bt voyager 105 modem, unistalled and re-installed aol v9, the modem shows 2 lights, the green arrows are lit, everything seems fine but again the screen just seems to freeze when i get to the sign in screen. Ive even updated from xp home to xp pro and still no avail. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
Oh yes the aol guy on the phone was reluctant to help as the phone is downstairs and the pc is up.
Answer I am not so sure, did you try configuring Windows Firewall and any other firewall on your computer for AOL Usage? The only last option I can think about is to reinstall Windows I know sounds wrong, but as you said you tried reinstalling Modem Drivers and AOL.
