AboutSteve Expertise Expert knowledge in AOL versions 5.0, 6.0, and currently using 7.0, 9.0, if there is a problem within any area i can usually come up with a fix or know where to get it.
Experience Have been an AOL member for almost 10 years and have suffered thru some of the problems that come up daily.

Question QUESTION: I keep getting a female voice in the background of aol that says "if you want it" I thought it was something on my computer but when I also use a different computer I get the same audio. This must have something to do with AOL but it never asks for anything else or shows anything else?
Any Idea what it could be and how to get rid of it?

ANSWER: hi rick,
hmm, seems like someone while you are online associated a sound with AOL that is doing that......It will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. if you want, un-install AOL, clear cache, delete temp files, and history, then reboot, then install back, it should be at defaults. If you can find it in your sounds, you may be able to avoid re-doing everything

QUESTION: Like I said it is on two different computers so I think it must be comming from somewhere in AOl. You have not heard of anyone else getting this random message?
ANSWER: unfortunately no, i stopped using AOL awhile ago because of many issues..sorry
Rick has a problem that i nor the people i contacted had ever had happen.....voices, o.k. very possible, but is it an AOL problem maybe. I volunteer my time because i understand the good (very little), and the bad of AOL. I am honest and candid, my saying i stopped using AOL does not mean i do not keep up on their technology or lack of it! If Rick di not appreciate my honesty, then let him go somewhere else, where normally diagnostics are $75.00 and up!!!! Sorry you were not happy, but i still give you and your questions respect and my time, inspite of your lack of respect......Please do not send me anymore questions.!!

QUESTION: I notice in your reply to my rating of your volunteer service that you did not include it, why is that? If you choose to be sour grapes about the feedback why have it? And when you do tell the whole story not just your part.
I asked an AOL question and you admitted you stopped using it if you don't use it then you have no incentive to know about it! Yet you state there is very little good in it. Did someone else tell you this? O yea that's why you volunteer your time why .. to bash AOL? Also it was not that I did not appreciate your honesty (I gave you a 10 for being polite can I take that back) It was out of respect that I gave any feedback at all!
If your smart enough to answer any questions here, do that. Don't waist time, yours or mine, in sections you know nothing about like AOL issues. And above all stop acting like a baby when you do get feed back by telling others "then let him go somewhere else, where normally diagnostics are $75.00 and up!!!!" Answer lol...no sour grapes, if you look at my history it is 98% good to excellent.....my knowledge speaks for itself, i am not bashing AOL, jut my opinion, sorry if you feel i am not entitled, by the way, use spellcheck waste is spelled like you see it, not waist....i hope you get your answer
