9.0 VR is the only one that runs on Windows vista. lower versions won't work!

There will only be one version of AOL that will work on Vista which is 9.0vr. If you install other versions of aol, it will only give you a popup 'aol will now install files', that is because only 9.0vr will work on vista

Go to Control Panel and select Add/REmove Programs.
Click the AOL Uninstaller and when the list is brought up of components, select and remove the ACS (AOL Connectivity Service). It is corrupted. Restart your computer and it will be rebuilt. Jmax

I've tried all your suggestions more times than I can count, called AOL numerous times and they always blame something not related at all. This is a problem with the AOL software and probably Huffington Post news host. One idiot tech told me my favorites list was corrupted and that causes the problem. I have very high speed Internet, but when I run speed check through AOL it is 1/2 the speed it should be. When I check the speed directly through Internet Explorer, it is correct. There is a problem, and they will not acknowledge it and they don't know how to fix it.
