Question
Reformatted and restored computer after trojan virus. Got a new voyager 190 modem from aol and the broadband and aol 9 software. Only lets me sign on as a guest. Have used help line but their suggestion to use the autofix programmes and 3 types of fix for ACS didn't work. Your quick restore solution doesn't work. I've removed the software and reloaded a new copy of aol 9. Still the same problem. I'm only able to sign on as a guest.
delete ALL previous versions of AOL. Re-install, and follow where it says you are a current subscriber. If possible use 7.0 or 8.0 as 9.0 is very problematic. Let me know how that works..Who told you to quick restore?? That will not corret the problem. Good luck, STEVE

| Comment | AOL help line told me to quick restore. I don't have versions 7 or 8, but have been happily using version 9 with the voyager 50 modem for over 2 years. This problem has only arisen since I reformatted the computer. The voyager 50 wouldn't work and aol's answer to the problem was to send me a voyager 190. | ||
