Project Management/PMP exam

Can you tell me how important is the PMBOK Guide when you are studying for the PMP exam? Thank-you

The PMBOK Guide is, based on information from several sources, related to about 60% of the PMP exam content. The PMBOK Guide is a standard developed by PMI and contains very specific information about the 5 PM process groups and the 10 knowledge areas associated with project management. Is is highly recommended that anyone studying for the PMP exam include in their study an in depth reading of the entire document to become familiar with the terms and processes that may be referenced on the exam.
