Question
I've been dealing with my home warranty company since June of this year regarding a water leakage in my home that has since been determined that parts of my home was unfinished.  My home was built 2007.  I purchased it in 2008. My homeowners insurance adjuster came out to discover shotty construction work by the builders.  I 'm getting the run around and can't get the warranty company to talk to me nor repair the problem.  What recourse do I have with the builders?  How do I get them to finish my home and repair the water damage?

Answer
Hi Sharon,

I'm sorry to hear about your problem.  Unfortunately, I think what you really need is some legal advice regarding the construction issues.  You may have some sort of recourse against the contractor.

I recommend you contact your State Insurance Departent to file a complaint agains the Home Warranty company.  There should be no reason why someone shouldn't be talking to you.

If you have some coverage questions, please don't hesitate to write.
