Question Hello Thom,
I am currently working as an accounts receivables rep. for a group of podiatrist. I am seeking now to go on the 'other side' of the medical insurance field. I would like to stay in the health field...and perhaps auto and workers compensation. I am interested in the property and casualty insurance licensing however, i would like to know EXACTLY what does this license offer? In other words, what career advances can i obtain with this license? I was also looking into the claims adjuster license for all lines. Which wil also be in the health, workers compensation, and auto department. In all, what i am really loking for is an answer as to what EXACTLY does the property and casualty license do? ANy answers will be great! THank you for your time.
Answer Mari, hello!
The P. & C. license for Georgia may be a bit different than other states so you would need to contact your state's Insurance Department to verify.
The Property and Casualty license will allow you to sell and service all P. & C. policies, plus bonds. If you want to be a Bail Bondsman (lady), Agent or Adjuster, it is the same course I teach every month.
If you want to be involved in the health side, it would be another 40 hour school called, Life, Accident and Sickness prelicensing class you have to complete.
I've taught 45,000 and would need to chat with you awhile before giving opinions. The career advances depends on your skill, Leadership, enthusiasm, timing, and how disciplined you are. You can end up in a dead end job so now is the time to explore. You have to have a Business Plan. What do YOU want to accomplish? Where would you be happiest working? What state? What market? Sales, Service, Claims? It is endless. The opportunity is there for the right person.
You are welcome to email me and we can talk later this week. I have classes coming up for a couple of weeks and my time is compressed then.
Wish you the very best!! Your name spelling is neat!
Take care,
Thom Brooks
