Question I bought a can of paint at Walmart in which they had to mix.
The paint spilled all over the inside of my trunk and
bumper. Claims has offered me $1000 but does not come close
to damage or vehicle contents. They say they are not
responsible for items purchased once in my vehicle. Do I
take their offer or do I have another alternative?
Answer Hi Jill,
I've purchased lots of paint over the years and some of it has rolled around my vehicle...but never has a can opened up. Those things are very difficult to pop open if they're closed properly.
I'm assuming that you have filed a claim with Walmart and that's what you are referring to. I would recommend that you get three estimates for repair and present those to the claims person. If they don't agree with it and want to offer you less, you should consider small claims court as an option.
