Property & Casualty Insurance - property and casualty license

Expert: Thom Brooks - 6/6/2009

Question
What types of jobs can you find with a property and casualty license when you are new to the field? My girlfriend is scheduled to take the classes next week to prep her for the state test but has been questioning what you can do with just a p&c license (as opposed to having health and life also)and if its a good move or not.

Any advice is appreciated,
Thanks!

Answer
Tom, hello!

Depending on which state you're in, the jobs could be 80,000 for the agents and adjusters, and another 300,000 that work in support of the agency force.

Her path depends on fate, timing and where she will be happiest.  She needs to decide if she wants to work in an office, out in the field, or if she wants to travel extensively, or work in a Home Office level job, or work in handling claims.  Sales and Service is a constant demand for all companies.

She will get a great idea by spending a week in class with people from different companies.  Without my knowing her personality and goals, I couldn't adivse where she may fit most successfully.

She can email me at:  CompnyBiz@aol.com after she gets into class if she would like for me to elaborate on per options.

Take care,

Thom Brooks
