Experience Sucessful agent with the necessary 220 license for the state of florida
Question Very recently,it was discovered that the "shower pan" was leaking, which caused water damage beneath the laminate wood flooring in the bathroom, as well as the adjoining bedroom...The flooring in the balance of the unit has the same laminate wood flooring.
Here is my question: Is the unit owners insurance carrier responsible for the laminate wood flooring--throughout the unit-? and not just where the water damaged the flooring in both the bathroom and the bedroom...
Please keep in mind that the flooring is the same; It will not be possible to match the damage flooring with the undamaged flooring
I am a licensed insurance agent in the State of Florida for well over 20 yrs---with total experience of 47 yrs...
Would appreciate your advises at your earliest convenience...I will not discuss the claim with the carriers' adjuster, till I hear from you..
Thank you so much for your input....
Answer Hi,
Insurance companies have been getting tougher on claims the last few years. In reality they should cover all, they have been trying short cuts sometimes suceeding. You need to be persistant, remember, when you go to sell, if all is not changed it will devalue the unit and i will assume you have replacement cost. Without redoing entire unit it is my opinion they will not be making you entirely whole for your covered loss. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
