Julie, I am a nurse who just spoke w/one of my members about this very same issue. He had the same problems with sweating and the prosthesis falling off.(AKA Amputation leg) He was referred to a cyclist who came up with the following solution:

Purchase a synthetic chamois from Walmart; dampen the chamois and apply to the stump; then apply the prosthetic liner; then the prosthesis. He has had no further problems with the prosthesis falling off. He has no skin problems and doesn't use anything on the stump. Hope this helps.
