Psychiatry & Psychology--General/Past Fears !

Greetings !
Hoping all is well.
I have led a rather difficult life in that I came across some extremely hostile individuals.  Some of them I tried to befriend with disastrous results and I also made several 'eventual' mistakes.
I long since parted ways with these people and do not contact them for any reason......nor do I see them and evidently they avoid me as well.
These past few years I've been going through some very rough times both economically and a result I worry much about my future but also have developed some lingering thoughts of these nasty people from the past coming back one day in my life and causing me both harm and create havoc.
Are these fears of mine unfounded ?  I'm also in the process of reforming my personality...i.e. become a more relaxed and calm individual with less stress...................and I would not want these improvements to be ruined by some vengeful people from the past who might have axes to grind even though many of them turned out to be highly vicious and at the time I needed to defend myself !
Thanks !

Avoiding people that you have  already identified as toxic or hostile is a special social skill but it is a lot easier than getting them out of your life when they are in it.

If you have done the former than you should easily be able to do the latter.

Just remember to stay away from them if they should reappear,  and then you will have nothing to fear.
