Question
I've been wondering this for a while, but sometimes I will just start repeating out loud something I've thought or said and just keep repeating it, rewording it, or reording the words.  I'm not sure why I do this, but it usually happens when I'm feeling excited/giddy/energetic and it doesn't have terribly often, but its happening enough that I've noticed a pattern.  I'm wondering if this might be a mild form/ or the beginning of OCD.

I think this might come from my tendency to play with words, to take someone's words and change them slightly to make it mean something completely different, to make a pun, or intentionally misunderstand what a person says, usually in an attempt to get a laugh.  I'm 24, an INTP, quite bright, and when I was little the school thought I might have ADD, but then it was never mentioned again.

Answer
I SUPPOSE ITS POSSIBLE YOU MAY HAVE ADD BUT I SUGGEST YOU SEE YOUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR AND ASK HIM TO MAKE A REFERRAL FOR YOU SEE A DOCTOR OF PSYCHIATRY.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE THE PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR ALL THE DETAILS .  YOU CAN JUST SAY YOU HAVE BEEN FEELING DEPRESSSED AND THINK YOU NEED TO TALK WITH A PSYCHIATRIST OR EVEN MENTION YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT OCD.  WHEN YOU SEE THE PSYCHIATRIST LEVEL WITH HIM ABOUT YOUR BEHAVIOR.  HE MAY HAVE YOU PUT ON SOME SORT OF MEDS THAT WILL TONE DOWN THIS TENDENCY YOU HAVE .  IT DOES NOT SOUND AT ALL LIKE OCD .  UNLESS YOU ARE COUNTING UNCONTROLLABLY OR WASHING OR CHECKING OR REPEATING THE SAME EXACT TASKS DOZENS IF NOT MORE TIMES A DAY SUCH AS HAND WASHING OR TAKING SHOWERS FOR HOURS AT A TIME OR TURNING A LIGHT SWITCH ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY SINCE YOU ARE NOT SURE IF IT IS ON R OFF.  THOSE ARE CLASSIC SYMPTOMS OF A PERSON WITH OCD.  ALSO THOSE PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO HOARD USELESS ITEMS LIKE FOOD PACKAGES THAT THE AVERAGE PERSON WOULD JUST CHUCK OUT IN A SECOND.
