Subject: hearing conversation in my head

Question
I am an 18 yr old female from pakistan. Since the last few months i have begun to hear conversations in my head, mostly of people i know in my real life. I don't feel that i am particularly demented but i have felt that i am losing grip of my personality? I can't concertrate on the things i used to concertrate on. Is this something i should be worried abt?

Answer
Yes you need to be concerned.  First you need to see your regular doctor and have him or her refer you to a psychiatrist.  You must tell the psychiatrist all and he or she will get you started on some medication that will help you.  You may be under a lot of stress now .   Regardless you need to get into see a psychiatrist.  If possible try to see the chief of inpatient psychiatry at a teaching hospital  near where you live.  If you must travel to an area where a psychiatrist is then you must do so.  If you need the support of your family then seek their help.
