Question
I am smoking almost three years I smoke at least twenty cigarettes per day I recently sought help and was told that my lungs are in good condition as good as those of a passive smoker I don't inhale properly so whatever I inhale gets trapped which is why I have frequent coughs i'm really worried as I have a feeling that I'm obess. as I have ocd but is fairly under control with the help I got from my behavioural therapist
Please can you be of help

Answer
Smoking is not an OCD issue its an addiction.  Your therapist should have you see your primary care physician and get you on the patch or something else to get you off nicotine.  Incidentally if i recall Wellbutrin SR is also marketed under another name as a stop smoking type drug.  You may ask your therapist about having you take that also and it may help you get over your nicotine addiction. Smoking cigarettes is just as addictive as the opiate type drugs.  You also need to avoid acquaintances who smoke and places where people take smoke breaks.  One cigarette and you will be right back where you started.
