Dear Hecate, i am writing on behalf of my mother who made a shocking discovery at work this week. It turns out that a colleague at work has been writing things on pieces of paper like, " i step on you " may you fall from grace, and other things along with my mothers name on it and placing them in various parts of the work place like behind mirrors. some work colleagues found these papers, and also saw more of them fall out of this persons pocket and as they had been watching her after finding the ones behind the mirror they knew to pick up these and read with horror what they contained. My mother is a woman who is very well respected by her colleagues and of the utmost integrity and we cant understand why this woman is wishing this badness on her. this person also wrote things about two other workers as well. What i want to know is how can my mother protect herself against the evil that is being directed towards her as we are frightened and now the other staff intend brigning it to the attention of senior management we are frigtened that she may try to take revenge by hurting my mother. My mother is called rose and is a nurse and has devoted her whole career to looking after people and is so well loved by friends family and her colleagues that they jumped at the chance of protecting her in return for all the help she has given them in the past.

On a different note i read that awful email that was sent to you by that person threatening you with legal action. That this person can try to break your spirit and try to undo all the good that you have done over all the years beggars belief. You know in your heart of hearts that what they say is not so and you must always beleive in yourself and never allow anyone to doubt you, your own self approval is worth a thousand peoples. The person that wrote must lead such an empty life that they have turned to bigotry and hatred for solace. Hi Sharon,
Sorry for not answering you sooner but I wanted to read over the details you have given me to try and get a very clear connection to the situation that your mum is going through right now.

I think that one of the problems at your mum's work is a problem that sometimes happens it other companies, its called jealously. There are some people in this world who can't stand to see others succeed in work, home or life - whatever it happens to be. At work your mum is doing really well and I sense that her good work has been noticed and that she has been complimented for it, if she hasn't got a promotion yet she soon will. This is her reward for all the good work that she has been doing. This work colleague who is been nasty and cruel to her is very jealouy of your mum, not only in the work that she can do well but of the personality that your mum has and how those around her feel about her.

I sense that your mum is a very likeable person in the sense that she is friendly to the point that she puts those around her at ease. She has a way of giving comfort and understanding to those around her and within family and friends she is a well liked person. She can be serious when she has to be, but also has a sense of humor. This negative work collegue does not get on as well as your mum in the work place with the work but also with socialising with the other work collegues.

This negative work colleague I feel would like to be queen bee in the sense of wanting the attention and more eyes on her, but she really doesn't have the personality for others to look at her in that way. I sense that this negative work colleague has a small group of friends within work but they are all very similar to her, they spread their negativity around the work and sometimes the atmosphere is not too good. This colleague at work envies and has jealousy towards your mother and from what I can pick up, there are three other people beside your mother that this hate campaign has been forged against. Those people that the work colleague has been nasty to are finding it hard to ignore the notes and snippy words that this colleague has for them, but I know that for your mother and the three other people it is hard to get on with work and do good at it while someone is trying to pull you down.

The work colleague want to knock your mum's confidence in being able to do a good job and to get on well with other in the work. This makes the negative work colleague mad because I feel that there haven't been many compliments or promotions for them because of their attitude which basically sucks like bad eggs.

By the writing of the notes and the notes being left around the work place this negative and nasty person wants your mum and the other workers to find them and read them to upset them in everyway she can. The best way that your mother can protect herself from this nasty woman is to ignore the notes. If she can ignore the woman do so as much as she can, and let the negative woman at work believe that your mother is not bothered by the notes or by the things she is saying.

There is no such thing as black magic, the only way that anyone can have power or control over a person, is if that person believes that the other person has the power. Believing in this nasty womans negative thoughts, feelings and actions gives the negative co-worker power. If you mum gives the impression that she is not angry or hurt then the negative woman at work has no power over her, and the nasty womans action will backfire on her because of it. The worse thing your mum could do would be to show that she was annoyed by this woman-co-worker's actions and be afraid of what this woman would do next. If your mum gives into the fear and annnoyance that this woman at work is causing then she give this woman control of her fear and the power to hurt her and make her lose confidence in her work and herself.

Your mum can easily take control of this situation by not lowering herself to the co-workers actions or words and by ignoring this nasty co worker. Your mother should talk to other co-workers and say how immature these notes that the woman is leaving about and how cowardly this is to write and leave these notes, instead of confronting your mum with her issues like a mature adult.

There are many work colleagues that think that the nasty co-workers action are very bad and quite ridiculous. I feel like someone, maybe not your mother but some work colleague is going to tell someone like a manager, supervisor -some kind of boss about this situation and that it will be sorted out by this higher up person.

It is simple karma - what you send out, you get back 10 fold. So if you are negative and try to hurt and treat badly another person, then karma will bring it back to you at a later date. If you are positive and try to be kind and good them karma will see you right.
