Question
QUESTION:
hi Bill

I have written a 1460 page novel, it is a Mitchner type epic saga

in order to research, i relied on west point alumni, it is a story set in part at the academy. I have had the book reviewed by more than 75 alumni who frigen love it

I had it reviewed by a pod, basicaly they would share costs, less to me if i made it two or three books.

i think it's a great story and quite temporal right now. it follows a group of cadets entering the academy for 12 years and takes the current combat into account but it is more an epic coming of age tale\\warm regards, rich

ANSWER: Hi, Rich. Congratulations on completing your manuscript! 1460 pages makes it quite an epic.

Embedded in your e-mail are several interesting items. I'm not sure what question you have for me, however.

If you're wondering about POD publishers, you may want to check out what Dan Poynter and John Kremer say about them on their web sites. There are many good ones. There are also several bad ones. Always check their contracts to see how limiting they may be. If you're looking for a recommendation, check Infinity Publishing in Philadelphia.

Continued success with your novel.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Thanks Bill. Actualy, I am wondering about trying to locate an agent and traditional publisher for the book. Any ideas?

Answer
Rich,

I discovered this follow-up question on AllExperts. Sorry for the late reply.

To find an agent or traditional publisher, you will want to check the Literary Marketplace (LMP, for short) reference book. It lists both agents and publishers by genre. You can find the LMP in any public library in the Reference section. Depending on the endowment of the library, the LMP may be older or newer. For the most part, however, the information will be current enough for you to start your search.

Good luck with your search.
